Bob Nelson is an Auckland based photographer using both film and digital cameras.  As an avid international traveller, he has sought inspiration in a wide variety of locations.

Bob's primary influences stem from the New Topographics movement which has led him to more recently explore not only the visual impact of urban sprawl on the New Zealand landscape, but more particularly,  the geometric and colour permutations presented in the domestic industrial habitat. His fascination with the 'accidental abstraction' evident in this environment has been a major driving force in his recent work. However he also has a keen interest in the visual impact of manmade structures on small town and rural environments from both historical and contemporary points of view,  as evidence of the ongoing transformation of the landscape.

This website is dedicated to more recent work from 2014, mainly in New Zealand.

Bob exhibited in 2017 at the Depot Artspace, Devonport as a participant in the Auckland Festival of Photography.
